BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, JAJCE: Sports project

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, CBN supports a sports project in the city of Jajce through Orphan’s Promise. The city of Jajce is known for many things, from the fact that it is a royal city, and that it is one of the few cities in the world with a waterfall in its center, it is also known that way back in 1943. AVNOJ took place under its roof, which laid the foundations of the former Yugoslavia, but in the recent past it is well known by the term “two schools under the same roof”, which reflects one building, two schools, two programs, two peoples trying to find a way of coexistence, as in one building, as well as in one country.

In that city, Edina Hajder, through the sports activities of the Evangelical Church, started floorball or floor hockey as a completely new sport in our area 15 years ago.
Since then, the club “LAVOVI” was formed, which is not only part of the Bosnian league, but also participates in international tournaments. Some of the regular activities are trainings, tournaments, camps, regular annual presentations in all schools in Jajce, sports work and support in The Roma village of Kuprešani, and summer events and activities.

The club gathers children from 9 to 17 years old, regardless of nationality, social status, or even gender, because the club also trains girls. The goal is for them to learn to respect each other through floorball and relationships, spend time together, become friends and thus set an example for other children and their parents. We hope and believe that in the end they will be useful members of the society in which they live and hope for a new generation that stands on some other foundations and lives the fullness of what God has for them.
