Who are we?

CBN South East Europe is a registered activity of the humanitarian association Etno Nova in the Republic of Croatia, which represents all the activities of CBN (The Christian Broadcasting Network) in the region of South East Europe, OIB: 41488522238.

Visitors to our website

When someone visits cbnsee.com, we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard Internet log data and details about visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out information such as the number of visitors to different parts of our website. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not attempt and do not allow Google to attempt to discover the identities of those who visit our website. If we wish to collect personal information through our website, we will provide public notice. We will make it clear when we want to collect personal data and explain what we intend to do with it.

What data do we collect?

We collect the following data:

Information about how you use our website and the actions you take on it.
Contact information, such as your name, title, address, email address and telephone number.
Demographic information such as your preferences and interests.
Other information relevant to surveys and/or offers.
History of gifts and purchases (we have a legal obligation to record this).
All other data that you send to us through the website by filling out forms or posted comments.

What do we do with the data we collect?

We need this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and also, but not limited to, for the following reasons:

Our legal basis for processing your personal data

Email communication – Consent – we will only send you emails if you have given us your express consent to do so. There are some exceptions, for example, if you have a contract with CBN (such as signing up for a customer account), we may send you an email (which you can unsubscribe from at any time) based on the terms of that contract or if it is directly in connection with a donation, product or service you have made, purchased or subscribed to, such as confirmation of receipt of the donation.
Website access – Contractual – to access some parts of our website, you must create a user account. By doing so, you accept our terms and allow us to process your personal data to provide you with this service.
Donations, purchases or subscriptions – Contractual – if you donate, purchase or subscribe to one of our services, such as Superbook Academy, Superbook Club or Superbook School Materials, we need to process your personal data in order to provide that service.
Data Protection Obligations – Legal – Under the GDPR we have an obligation to ensure that the information we hold about you is up to date and we may contact you from time to time to check that your information is correct.

Consent for your personal data

By accepting this privacy notice, you give us permission to process your personal data exclusively for the identified purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time by exercising your right to restriction of processing. Please contact our data protection officer by sending an email with your request to [email protected]. Our Data Protection Officer will ensure that CBN SEE complies with your request within one month of receipt and will ensure that processing activities based on previously given consent are stopped.

Special category data that you may choose to share with us:

From time to time, we may collect, store and process special categories of information that you share with us for certain reasons. This information may include information about race, ethnic origin, politics, religion, health, sexual orientation, or information about children. We will only store special category data that you voluntarily share with us – and only collect, store and process this sensitive data for the purpose you allow us to, with your specific consent.

Processors as a third party that we use to process your personal data:

All third parties we use are listed below in this Policy, providing clear information on who has access to your data for the purpose for which it was intended. We have strict contracts with all our processors to protect your data.

Data storage

We use a third party database provider, DonorPerfect, to store and manage most of our personal information. DonorPerfect has some of the highest technical and organizational data security accreditations available. This means that your data is kept safe under lock and key. WP Engine

We use a third party service, WP Engine, to host our website where we store much of the personal data that this website collects. This service has a privacy protection certificate from the EU and the USA. This means they have exceptional data protection standards in line with UK and EU regulations, keeping your data safe. E-mail subscription

We use a third party, MailChimp, to deliver our email notifications and promotions. We collect statistics on email opens and clicks using standard technologies, including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve email delivery. For more information, see MailChimp’s privacy notice.

We will only send you email with content that you have consented to or that is directly related to a product or service that you have purchased or subscribed to or a donation that you have made.

If you receive email you don’t want, you can stop it by simply clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of all our emails. Some emails such as donation receipts and purchase confirmation receipts are automatically generated and cannot be unsubscribed from.

We may also use your email address to send you messages and promotions that we think you might like via social media such as Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook

As CBN SEE we do not want to send you generic messages. We want to send you customized messages and promotions that we think will be of interest to you. To do this, our website uses the Facebook Tracking Pixel for tracking. It’s a code on our website that tells Facebook which parts of our website you’ve visited and records the actions you’ve taken, such as shopping through our store or subscribing to our mailing list. To opt out, log in to Facebook and go to www.facebook.com/ads/preferences. If you are not on Facebook, you can block third-party cookies in your browser settings. For more information, read your website’s browser settings documentation.

People who contact us through social media

We use a third party, Hootsuite, to manage social media interactions.

If you send us a private or direct message via social media, Hootsuite will store the message for three months. It will not be shared with any other organizations.

People who call our helpline

When you call our helpline, CBN SEE collects Calling Line Identification (CLI) information. We use this data to improve its efficiency and effectiveness. We only record calls with your consent. If your call is recorded, it will only be used for training and monitoring purposes. All call recordings are stored in a secure location and deleted after ninety days.

People who send us email

We use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt and protect email traffic as required by law. If your email service does not support TLS, you should be aware that any email we send or receive may not be secure in transit. We may also monitor any email sent to us, including file attachments, for viruses or malware. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that any email you send complies with the law.

Persons using CBN SEE services

CBN offers various services to the public. We use a third party to handle some publication requests, such as Reach Magazine and Power for Life, but they are only allowed to use the data necessary to send the publications.

All orders from the cbnsee.com store are fulfilled by CLC International. In order to complete your order, we need to share some of your information with them. However, CLC may only use your information for the purpose of fulfilling your order. See CLC’s compliance data for more information.

We need to keep the data of the people who requested the service in order to provide it. However, we only use this information to provide the service requested by the individual and for other related purposes, including, but not limited to, informing you about other services or promotions that we think may be of interest to you. We may also use information about people who have requested a publication to carry out a survey to determine whether they are satisfied with the level of service they have received.

When people subscribe to our services, they can cancel their subscription at any time (unless otherwise specified) in a very simple way.

Data Retention

We will retain your data for as long as you are our donor or have purchased one of our products or subscribed to one of our services or have given your consent to do so or if there is a contractual or legal obligation for us to do so, or where there is a legitimate interest. If none of these retention reasons apply, after some time your data will be deleted from our systems. The length of time varies depending on the nature of the data and how it was collected. Donations and purchases

We are obliged to keep records of donations or purchases in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Croatia.

Your rights as an individual

At any time while we have or process your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:

Right of access – you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Right to rectification – you have the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data we have about you.
The right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be deleted from our records.
Right to restriction of processing – if certain conditions for restriction of processing apply.
Right to portability – you have the right to transfer the information we hold about you to another organization.
Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
The right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
Right to Judicial Review: In the event that the CBN SEE refuses your request for a right of access, we will give you the reason why. You have the right to appeal as set out below.

Complaints or inquiries

CBN SEE strives to meet the highest standards in the collection and use of personal data. For this reason, we take all complaints we receive in this regard very seriously. We encourage people to let us know if they think our collection or use of information is unfair, wrong or inappropriate. We also welcome any suggestions to improve our procedures.

Access to personal data

tell you why we retain them;
say to which entities it may be disclosed; and
provide you with a copy of the information in an understandable form.

If you agree, we will try to process your request informally, for example by providing the specific information you need over the phone.

If we hold information about you, you can ask us to correct any errors by, again, contacting our Data Protection Officer.

Under the GDPR, you also have the right to erasure, which means that if you want us to delete any or all of the data we have about you, we will be happy to do so. Simply submit your request to our Data Protection Officer by email at [email protected].
